Hobart is known as the City with four seasons in one day. Not uncommon to start the day with fog on the Derwent, snow on the mountain, wind in the morning and a dash of rain, then presto blue skies and sunshine in the afternoon. Our average maximum daily summer temperatures are between 17 and 23 degrees. By the way, Melbourne does get hotter in summer and has more rainfall than Hobart.
