Taking tea in the Officers Mess is a long tradition. Anglesea Barracks, an Australian Defence Force barracks is located in Central Hobart .The site was chosen in December 1811 by Governor Lachlan Macquarie and construction began on the first buildings in 1814. It is the oldest Australian Army barracks still in use and celebrated its bicentenary in December 2011. Well worth a visit to an intriguing military museum.
